Marcel Marceau, considered the world's greatest mime, returns to Los Angeles with a three-week engagement at the Geffen Playhouse July 30-Aug. 18. Marceau is most recognized for his created persona, Bip, a white-faced clown in a striped shirt and top hat. HIs mimodramas include The Cage, The Mask Maker, The Public Garden, Youth, Maturity, Old Age and Death and his most recent creation, The Bowler Hat.
A two-time Emmy winner ("The Maurice Chevalier Show," "Laugh In"), Marceau has been honored with France's highest distinctions, naming him an Officier de la Legion d'Honneur and a Grand Officer of the Order of Merit. His films include "Barbarella," "Shanks" and Mel Brooks' "Silent Movie."
