Tony Award winner Roger Rees (Uncle Vanya, Indiscretions) will star in his one-man Shakespeare tribute, What You Will – An Evening By and About the Bard, on July 23. "Rees incorporates hysterical, historical and histrionic observations on the Bard by notable personalities, ranging from David Garrick to George Bernard Shaw to Stevie Wonder," press notes state.
Conceived and created by Rees, What You Will – An Evening By and About the Bard debuted at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC, as part of the Shakespeare in Washington Festival.
In addition to Rees, Tony nominee and Drama Desk winner Raul Esparza (the 2006 revival of Company, Taboo) will take part in a one-night-only reading of Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Our Town.
Esparza will be the "Stage Manager" in the Aug. 17 reading of the 1930's classic about small-town American life. Further casting has not been announced.
