Prenger is best known for winning the role of Nancy in the last West End revival of Oliver! at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane through the BBC television series "I’d Do Anything." She has subsequently also been seen in the West End and on tour in the National's production of One Man, Two Guvnors and as the Lady of the Lake in Monty Python's Spamalot.
The production will be directed by Nikolai Foster, whose recent credits include Beautiful Thing at the Arts Theatre and on tour, Annie at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds and a national tour of The Witches of Eastwick.
Musical arrangements and supervision will be by Catherine Jayes. The tour is produed by Jamie Wilson, Paul Elliott and Duncan C Weldon.
In the show, Calamity Jane can outrun and outshoot any man in Deadwood. Hard, boastful and desperate to impress, she travels to Chicago to recruit a star, Adelaide Adams, for the Deadwood Stage. But things don’t go too smoothly for Calamity, as everyone in town favors the new girl and she struggles to keep her jealousy and pride in check. It takes her long-standing enemy Wild Bill Hickok to make her see sense, and realize her Secret Love.
Adapted for the stage by Charles K. Freeman, Calamity Jane has music by Sammy Fain and lyrics by Paul Francis Webster.
