The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss makes her Broadway debut in the long-running, Tony-winning revival of Chicago January 15.

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter steps into the role of Matron “Mama” Morton for eight weeks through March 11 at the Ambassador Theatre. Burruss recently headlined a sold-out, nationwide tour with her group XSCAPE.

The Broadway musical currently stars Tony nominee Charlotte d’Amboise as Roxie Hart, Olivier winner Leigh Zimmerman as Velma Kelly, Tom Hewitt as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, LaVon Fisher-Wilson as Matron “Mama” Morton, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

Burruss earned a Grammy Award in 2000 for penning the TLC hit "No Scrubs." She has been a cast member of Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta since its second season in 2009.

With a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander, and lyrics by Fred Ebb, Chicago is the longest-running American musical in Broadway history. Produced by Barry and Fran Weissler, the production is the winner of six 1997 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical, as well as the Grammy Award for Best Musical Cast Recording.

Directed by Tony winner Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Tony winner Ann Reinking, Chicago features set design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by Tony winner William Ivey Long, lighting design by Tony winner Ken Billington, sound design by Scott Lehrer, and casting by Stewart/Whitley.
