New musical Safety Not Guaranteed opened at Brooklyn Academy of Music October 3, and the reviews are in. Playing the Harvey Theater, the limited engagement is set to continue through October 20. Find out what critics are saying about the new work below.

Nkeki Obi-Melekwe and Taylor Trensch are leading the cast as Darius and Kenneth, respectively. They're joined by Pomme Koch as Jeff, Rohan Kymal as Arnau, Ashley Pérez Flanagan as Liz, and John-Michael Lyles as Tristan. Casting is by Taylor Williams.

Lee Sunday Evans (Home) is at the helm. Based on Derek Connolly's 2012 film, Safety Not Guaranteed follows Darius, a journalist who is assigned to report on a local classified ad offering the opportunity to go back in time, and the complicated relationship that ensues. This musical version features music and lyrics by Ryan Miller, with a book by Nick Blaemire.
