Performances of Othello at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre began on August 1, following a preview period that began on July 20. The production runs through October 13.

André Holland (Moonlight, Jitney) and Tony and Oscar winner Mark Rylance (Farinelli and the King) star as Othello and Iago, respectively. Claire van Kampen, who is married to Rylance, directs the production.

The cast is rounded out by Sheila Atin, Catherine Bailey, William Chubb, Steffan Donnelly, Micah Loubon, Ira Mandela Siobhan, Aaron Pierre, Clemmie Sveaas, Badria Timimi, and Jessica Warbeck.

Othello takes place in Venice and follows the tragedy of an envious, conniving soldier who seeks revenge on his superior officer.
