MCC Theater celebrated the official opening of Alice By Heart February 26. The new musical transports Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland into World War II London, where two teenagers—Alice and Alfred—journey down the rabbit hole in an attempt to escape their violent realities.
Alice By Heart, which is staged in MCC's new uptown theatre, reunites the Tony- and Grammy-winning creators of Spring Awakening, Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik, with director and co-writer Jessie Nelson (Waitress). The new musical explores the poignancy of first love, coming to terms with loss, and what it means to find the courage to move forward.
Leading the cast are Molly Godron and Colton Ryan, who are joined by Mia DiLena, Zachary Downer, Noah Galvin, Zachary Infante, Andrew Kober, Grace McLean, Nkeiki Obi-Melekwe, Catherine Ricafort, Heath Saunders, and Wesley Taylor.
