Off-Broadway's Rattlestick Theatre will present new plays by Adam Rapp, Ben Bettenbender, Jonathan Tolins and Joe Hortua in its 2002-03 season.
The line-up will begin in September with Faster by Adam Rapp, the author of Nocturne, which was seen at New York Theatre Workshop last season. Darrell Larson will direct the story about "a reckless kidnapping [that] leads to the end of the world."
November will bring Bliss by Ben Bettenbender. The play, about a widow who hires an ex-con to avenge the murder of her husband, will be directed by Julia Gibson (Blue Window). Rattlestick produced Bettenbender's Vick's Boy in 1999.
The December slot is filled by the latest effort from Jonathan Tolins, the man behind Twilight of the Golds and If Memory Serves. The work does not yet have a title or director. Joe Hortua's Burning will conclude the season in January.
The Rattlestick is located at 224 Waverly Place in the Village. Call (212) 627-2556. —By Robert Simonson
