Among them are New York's Public Theater, calling for full-length submissions from writers who live within 90 minutes of the theatre to join their Emerging Writers Group. Also featured in the long list are Northern Michigan University, with an open call for full-length comedies with a winning prize of $2,000; the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation fellowship for "mid-career" artists; New York City's Midtown International Theatre Festival; Manhattan Repertory Theatre; the MacDowell Fellowship; and Iowa's Riverside Theatre.
