News Producers Guild to Honor "Law and Order" Producer Dick Wolf Dick Wolf, producer of the hit television series "Law and Order," will be awarded the Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television at the 19th annual Producers Guild of America Awards.

Wolf's series, including "Law and Order," "Special Victims Unit" and "Criminal Intent," have provided numerous actors in the Broadway community steady television work. Variety reports that the producer will be acknowledged during the Feb. 2 gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. A recent Emmy winner for producing HBO's "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee," Wolf's 18-year series, "Law and Order," is slated to become the longest-running television drama in history. "Law and Order" is currently tied with other television favorites "Cheers" and "MASH" for the most consecutive series Emmy nominations.

Previous recipients of the Norman Lear Achievement Award include Jerry Bruckheimer, Garry Marshall, Aaron Spelling, Lorne Michaels, Steven Bochco, John Wells, Bud Yorkin, David L. Wolper, Don Hewitt and David E. Kelley.
