How to Broadway-size Your Next Party or Event with PLAYBILLDER
The newest spotlight is Sandra Simnegar and Mitch Fleck's elegant wedding. The couple, who met on Facebook, used PLAYBILLDER to showcase their love for Broadway, creating the program for their June ceremony in Boston. Within their Playbill, Simnegar and Fleck were able to introduce their wedding party, share details about beloved extended family members, and hint at cheeky memories of what once happened (and stayed) in Vegas.
The couple shared with Playbill what emotional moment led Mitch to believe Sandra was "The One" and the comments they've received from guests about their wedding Playbill.
Tell us about yourselves. How long have you been together, and how did you meet?
Mitch Fleck: We have been together for five years now, and met on Facebook actually. Our first Facebook conversation was Sandy asking me how she might know me. The truth was that she didn't know me. I [had] sent her a friend request out of the [blue]. We messaged back and forth for a bit, and then I suggested we speak on the phone. Sandy agreed, and I recall a lot of laughing in our first conversation. Then I suggested we meet for dinner, which we did, and now we are married!
When did you know that each other was “The One?”
For me, it was when I started picturing my life without her and I got emotional.
What were some of the most challenging moments in your wedding planning? What was the most rewarding moment of your wedding day?
We live in LA and got married in Boston, so that itself was challenging. Choosing vendors over Zoom wasn't easy, either. Our entire wedding was rewarding. We had planned out many little things [referencing Broadway]. We [named] each table [after] a Broadway show, Wicked, The Lion King, Jersey Boys etc. We also created a Broadway show ticket for each person that [noted] their table assignment and put them in envelopes that looked like will-call tickets. When people noticed, that was really nice for us.
What major milestones are you looking forward to experiencing as a couple?
We would like to buy a house at some point and also we are working towards early retirement.
What was the first Broadway show you attended as a couple?
Wicked.
How have the performing arts played a role in your love story?
We are big fans of Broadway shows, and having the Playbill handed out to each guest as they walked in was such a nice surprise. We heard so many great comments on it as well. People actually knew [from reading it] who was walking down the aisle and a little bit about each person.
How did your guests respond to seeing the Playbill for the first time?
It was really one of the highlights of our wedding. Our guests loved it. We heard so many great compliments about our Playbill, from "unique" to "super cool" and everything in between.
How did PLAYBILLDER impact your wedding planning as a resource?
It was great for all of our guests to know who was walking down the aisle, who they were related to, and a little bit about each person.
Would you recommend PLAYBILLDER to other couples planning for their big day?
100 percent!
