On February 21, Playbill teamed up with School of Rock—The Musical for a Broadway first! Utilizing the new Snapchat Spectacles, Playbill’s Snapchat followers were able to experience School of Rock’s “Teacher’s Pet” and curtain call direct from the Winter Garden stage. Never before has a Broadway show used this technology to give social media users this perspective from the stage.

Jersey Sullivan, who plays James, and music director and conductor Darren Ledbetter guide Playbill’s Snapchat followers throughout the show. Before the performance and during act one, viewers were given a behind-the-scenes look at pre-show rituals and dressing room fun from a standard Snapchat perspective. During act two, both Sullivan and Ledbetter donned the Snapchat Spectacles while onstage and in the orchestra pit. A few familiar faces make appearances, like Eric Petersen and Brandon Niederauer.
