The 92nd St. Y hosted a December 4 screening of Tony and Emmy-winning designer Bob Mackie's new documentary Bob Mackie: Naked Illusion. See photos from the event in the gallery below.
The screening was followed by a discussion with Mackie and New York Fashion Week creator Fern Mallis, along with panelists Bernadette Peters, Gregg Barnes, Joe McFate, and more.
Throughout his career, Mackie has dressed entertainment icons including Cher, Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, Bette Midler, Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli, Barbra Streisand, Peters, and many others. He has received nine Primetime Emmy Awards and three Academy Award nominations for his work. Mackie designed the costumes—and won a Tony Award—for Broadway's 2018 jukebox musical The Cher Show.
