Real Women Have Curves was the final show to open on Broadway in the 2024–2025 season, and it was also the most colorful, with stars showing up to the James Earl Jones Theatre dressed in all kinds of bold hues.
Priscilla Lopez, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Sara Bareilles, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Ana Villafañe, and many more were on the red carpet for the new musical, based on the 1993 play by Josefina López. Notably, the show's cast member Aline Mayagoitia showed up to impress with an emerald green headdress.

Sergio Trujillo and company of Real Women Have Curves
With a score by Joy Huerta and Benjamin Velez and a book by Lisa Loomer with Nell Benjamin, the work follows a first-generation child of Mexican immigrants torn between joining the family garment business or embarking on her own dream of attending college in NYC.
The project is being helmed by Sergio Trujillo, who's directing and choreographing. Justina Machado plays Carmen Garcia, Ana’s hardworking mother who imagines a traditional life for her daughter, played by Tatianna Córdoba. The two are supported by Florencia Cuenca as Estela, Shelby Acosta as Prima Flaca, Carla Jimenez as Pancha, Aline Mayagoitia as Itzel, Mason Reeves (Frozen) as Henry, Jennifer Sánchez as Rosalí, Sandra Valls as Prima Fulvia, and Mauricio Mendoza as Raúl Garcia. Cuenca, Jimenez, Mayagoitia, Reeves, and Valls are all making their Broadway debuts in the production, and all but Mayagoitia are reprising their performances from the musical's 2024 world premiere.
The company also includes Ariana Burks, Quincy Hampton, Zeus Mendoza, Claudia Mulet, Christopher M. Ramirez, Monica Tulia Ramirez, Shadia Fairuz, Elisa Galindez, and Omar Madden.
The production also has music supervision by Nadia DiGiallonardo, music direction by Roberto Sinha, scenic design by Arnulfo Maldonado, costume design by Wilberth Gonzalez and Paloma Young, lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by John Shivers, video design by Hana S. Kim, hair, wig, and make-up design by Krystal Balleza, and orchestrations by DiGiallonardo, Huerta, Rich Mercurio, and Velez. Casting is by X Casting's Victor Vazquez and ARC's Duncan Stewart.
Tripp Phillips serves as production stage manager, with B.J. Holt as general manager and Alecia Parker as executive producer.
