The new bilingual musical adaptation, penned by Rebecca Martínez and Julián Mesri, previously toured all five boroughs, giving free performances May 2-21, and is now at the Off-Broadway venue through June 11.

The English and Spanish musical features music, music direction, and Spanish translations by Mesri and lyrics by Mesri and Martínez, who is also directing and choreographing.

The company includes Varín Ayala as Angelo/Egeon/Pinch, Danaya Esperanza as Adriana, Keren Lugo as Luciana, Sara Ornelas as Troubadour, Gían Pérez as Dromio of Syracuse/Ephesus, Joel Perez as Antipholus of Syracuse/Ephesus, and Desireé Rodriguez as Courtesan/Emilia. Rebecca Jimenez and Alan Mendez are understudies, with Jacinta Clusellas as the performance's musician.

"Rebecca Martínez and Julián Mesri have masterfully adapted Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors, injecting it with warmth and energy that you will find infectious as you tap your toes and hum new songs that feel amazingly recognizable yet entirely new," said Associate Artistic Director and Director of Artistic Programs Freedome Bradley-Ballentine in an earlier statement. "They have embraced one of Joe Papp’s core values—accessibility—by creating a bilingual version that invites everyone into the joyous world they’ve created. This exceptional Comedy of Errors is firmly in a long lineage of plays from The Public that freshly embrace the form. You must experience this event, whether in your community or at The Public."

The production features scenic design by Emmie Finckel, costume design by Lux Haac, sound design by Charles Coes, and fight direction by Sean Griffin. Luisa Sánchez Colón serves as production stage manager, and Caren Celine Morris serves as stage manager.
