The Tony-winning songwriters will be represented on Broadway this season with the upcoming revival of Ragtime.

The Dramatists Guild Foundation hosted a Salon event September 15, spotlighting Tony-winning songwriters Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Check out photos from the gathering in the gallery below.

Hosted by DGF Vice President Kevin Hager and Michael McCorry Rose and moderated by Executive Director Rachel Routh, Ahrens and Flaherty spoke about their more than 40-year writing partnership. The duo also spoke about the timeliness of the upcoming Broadway revival of Ragtime and why the DGF Fellows program remains important for early-career dramatists.

Ahrens and Flaherty co-founded the Fellows program in 2000, with Janet Neipris and Susan Miller. 

The evening's program concluded with Flaherty at the piano. Other writers in attendance included Stephen Schwartz and Matthew Sklar.

Songwriting partners Ahrens (lyrics) and Flaherty (music) won the 1998 Tony Award for Best Original Score for Ragtime. Their numerous other musicals include Little Dancer, Anastasia, Dessa Rose, Once On This Island, Rocky, The Glorious Ones, A Man of No Importance, Seussical, and My Favorite Year.
