Classic Arts News Photo Journal: Aida at Michigan Opera Theatre On April 22, Detroit's Michigan Opera Theatre premiered a new production of Verdi's Aida starring Indra Thomas and Salvatore Licitra.
The production, which is directed by Bliss Herbert, runs through April 30.

The opening-night cast included Thomas as Aida, Licitra as Radams, Irina Mishura as Amneris, Gregg Baker as Amonasro, and Hao Jiang Tian as Ramfis. Lisa Daltrius, Antonello Palombi, and Nancy Maultsby sing Aida, Radams, and Amneris, respectively, in some performances.

Guiliano Carella is the conductor. Allen Charles Klein designed sets and costumes.
