"Join me as we go behind the scenes into our one-month rehearsal for Carrie," says Laurel. "As we approach our closing weekend come and see a glimpse of our journey! It has been such an amazing and crazy ride in the very best way. What an honor it has been to be able to stage the first international production of Carrie in the Philippines and to be a part of it! With the highlight of having one of the creative masterminds behind the show, Lawrence Cohen, joining us for opening night. Take a look at what we have been up to."

Final company call before moving into the Theatre.
The show, based on the modern classic by Stephen King, with music by Academy Award Winner Michael Gore, lyrics by Academy Award winner Dean Pitchford and a book by Lawrence D. Cohen, "tells the tragic story of a misunderstood high school teenager named Carrie White with extraordinary telekinetic powers. Terrorized by her oppressive religious fanatic mother and bullied by her classmates, Carrie’s violent rampage of revenge remains one of the most terrifying stories of all time." Carrie first premiered on Broadway 25 years ago and, after numerous revisions, was recently revived at the MCC Theatre Off-Broadway.
Award winning musical theatre actress Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo will be playing Margaret White. Mikkie Bradshaw will be playing Carrie White. Markki Stroem plays Tommy, Yanah Laurel plays Sue, Shiela Valderrama-Martinez plays Miss Gardner, Jill Peña plays Chris, Mako Alonso plays Billy and Jamie Wilson plays Mr. Stephens. Joining them in the ensemble are Garie Concepcion, Johann Dela Fuente, Nel Gomez, Lilette Lorenzana, Kim Molina and Bibo Reyes.
Carrie is directed by Atlantis Productions Artistic Director Bobby Garcia (Piaf, Next to Normal, God of Carnage, Nine, Disney’s Aladdin, Rent), with choreography by Cecile Martinez, musical direction by Ceejay Javier, set design by Otto Hernandez, lighting design by Martin Esteva, costume design by Raven Ong and vocal coaching by ManMan Angsico.
The show runs from September 20 - October 6, 2013 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati.
Atlantis Productions will also release a 4-track EP CD featuring the Original Manila Cast. The limited edition CD will be released in time for the opening of the show and will be sold at the theatre lobby and at Atlantis Productions. It will be released by Curve Entertainment, Inc.
