Tony Award winner Beth Leavel sang the anthem "As We Stumble Along" for crowds on Nov. 9 in Times Square. The not so Drowsy cast — after a few coffees — also performed a new holiday song written by the show's composers Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison.
To add to the holiday cheer, Starbucks teamed up with the show to spread random "acts of cheer" in the form of free coffee, gift cards, peppermint Chapstick and even MTA Metrocards. Starbucks also offered a "not-so-random act of kindness in the shape of a $10,000 donation to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS," according to organizers.
