The New York premiere of Isobel Mahon’s Party Face, now playing a limited Off-Broadway engagement at City Center, celebrates its official opening January 22. A housewarming party spirals hilariously out of control in the Irish playwright’s new comedy about mothers and daughters, secrets, and self-acceptance.
Directed by Amanda Bearse (Married…With Children), Party Face stars Oscar winner Hayley Mills (The Parent Trap, Pollyanna, The King and I), as well as Klea Blackhurst (Goodspeed’s Hello, Dolly!), Gina Costigan (Mint Theater’s The Suitcase Under the Bed), Brenda Meaney (Indian Ink), and Allison Jean White (Roundabout’s Man and Boy).
The production began performances January 11 and is scheduled to play through April 8 at City Center Stage 2, 131 West 55th Street.
Party Face features set design by Jeff Ridenour, lighting design by Joyce Liao, costume designs by Lara de Bruijn with Michael Blatzer as associate costume designer, sound design by Damien Figueras, and casting by Pat McCorkle, CSA, McCorkle Casting, Ltd. Brierpatch Productions serves as general management.
