Jay Martel's comedy follows six parents exchanging texts as their 17-year-old daughters drive home from a road trip with a hurricane looming.

Jay Martel's new comedy Parents in Chains will receive two developmental workshop presentations in Los Angeles, held September 30 and October 1 at the Whitley Theatre.

Parents in Chains follows six L.A. parents exchanging texts as their 17-year-old daughters drive home from San Francisco with a hurricane looming. The trip and the inclement weather bring out the best and the worst in the parents as they confront what it means to let go of their kids.

Casting will be announced at a later date.

The workshop performances are presented by J. Todd Harris and directed by Andy Fickman.
