Charlotte d'Amboise and Bianca Marroquín hosted the June 20 ceremony at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.

NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts hosted the 4th annual Chita Rivera Awards, celebrating dance and recognizing choreographic excellence, June 20 with Charlotte d'Amboise and Bianca Marroquín hosting.

Among this year's winners were Bill T. Jones, Garrett Coleman, and Jason Oremus for their work choreographing Broadway's Paradise Square; Myles Frost and Jared Grimes, who tied for Outstanding Male Dancer in a Broadway Show for their work in MJ The Musical and Funny Girl, respectively; and the company of for colored girls who have considered suicide/ when the rainbow is enuf, who collectively won Oustanding Ensemble in a Broadway Show. Tendayi Kuumba, who plays Lady in Brown in the Ntozake Shange revival, took Outstanding Female Dancer in a Broadway Show. For a full list of nominees, click here. See the full list of winners below.

On hand to present this year's honors were Chita Rivera, Ben Vereen, Wayne Cilento, Desmond Richardson, Ashley Blair Fitzgerald, Dylis Croman, and Rachel Zatcoff. Hosts d'Amboise and Marroquín performed, along with Bebe Neuwirth, Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish, American Dance Machine for the 21st Century, the cast of STOMP, and dancers from the Pace University Commercial Dance BFA Program.

The event was produced by Patricia Watt and Joe Lanteri, founder and executive director of the New York City Dance Alliance Foundation, and benefits the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation College Scholarship Program. Since the organization’s founding in 2010, it has awarded $4 million to more than 400 dancers.
