International Literary Properties' theatrical division has formed an investment, acquisition, and management partnership with Simcha Productions, Inc. and Dan Chayefsky for the literary works of Paddy Chayefsky.

Sidney Aaron "Paddy" Chayefsky was an American playwright, screenwriter, and novelist, known for his naturalistic dramas. He is the only person in history to have won three solo Academy Awards for writing both adapted and original screenplays. His films Marty (1955), The Hospital (1971), and Network (1976) are considered some of the best of their eras, with Network widely regarded as a literary masterpiece made for the screen.

Dan Chayefsky, Paddy Chayefsky’s son and president of Simcha Productions, Inc. (a production company his father founded), said in a statement, “I am very pleased to associate my father’s legacy with the professionals at ILP, whose broad experience in all aspects of entertainment will surely bring renewed attention to all of my father’s works, which resonate with culture and society even today.”

International Literary Properties is a global literary and theatrical rights company dedicated to preserving and reimagining iconic works for new audiences. Led by CEO Michael Barra and Chairman Thomas B. McGrath, ILP’s theatrical division spans New York, London, Los Angeles, and Austin, partnering with authors, playwrights, lyricists, composers, and estates to protect creative legacies while courting talent across publishing, theatre, film, and television to develop fresh adaptations.

As a playwright, Chayefsky was twice nominated for the Tony Award for Best Play for The Tenth Man and Gideon. The stage adaptation of Network by Lee Hall had a successful run on Broadway in 2018, starring Bryan Cranston. Chayefsky was a part of the inaugural class of inductees into the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' Television Hall of Fame.

The Paddy Chayefsky Estate continues to be represented by Frederick Bimbler at Moses Singer and WME.
