Tony Award nominee Sheryl Kaller will direct the new musical based on the hit film of the same title.

A star-studded cast will lead the Off-Broadway premiere of new musical A Walk on the Moon, adapted from the 1999 film of the same name, this summer, playing The Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre June 15-August 22. An official opening night is set for June 29.

Tony Award nominee Sheryl Kaller will direct the new musical—adapted from the 1999 film of the same name—with a book and additional lyrics by original screenwriter Pamela Gray, music and lyrics by AnnMarie MilazzoJosh Prince will choreograph.

Set in the summer of 1969, the work follows Pearl Kantrowitz, a Brooklyn mother and housewife, as she takes the annual trip north to a Catskills bungalow colony just as the world begins to shift beneath her feet. As the countercultural revolution begins and music starts to change the world, Pearl awakens to a life beyond the one she's always known. The original film starred Diane Lane and Viggo Mortensen.

The stage musical will star Talia Suskauer as Pearl, Max Chernin as Marty, Sam Gravitte as Walker, Andréa Burns as Lillian, Sophie Pollono as Alison, and Oscar Williams as Ross. They will be joined by Andrew Faria as Irv, David Gordon as Neil, Megan Kane as Bunny, Caroline Pernick as Eleanor, Becca Suskauer as Rhoda, and Michael Tacconi as Stan. Leo Caravano and Reid Gardner Clarke will alternate as Danny. Understudies Tucker Gold, Ellie Schwartz, Richard Spitaletta, and Jodi Bluestein will round out the company. Casting is by the TRC Company's Merri Sugarman.

The production will feature sets and projections by Tal Yarden, costumes by Ricky Lurie, lighting by Robert Wierzel, sound by Justin Stasiw, music direction by Jillian Zack, and music supervision and arrangements by Andy Einhorn. The creative team also includes associate director Rosie Glen-Lambert, associate choreographer Ali Solomon, associate scenic designer Lily Tomasic, associate projection designer Andrew Gusciora, associate costume designer Natalie Loveland, associate lighting designer Eric Norbury, script associate Kayla Brooke, and company manager Zhiwei Ma. Kelly Stillwell, Tyler Larson, and Denise Cardarelli will stage manage.

Live Wire Theatrical will serve as general managers, and Roy Gabay is executive producer.
