"The Glee Project," the Oxygen Network reality series, featured 12 young performers competing for a multi-episode guest-starring role on season three of Fox's "Glee."
On the show, contestants were given a "homework assignment" that involved learning and practicing segments of a chosen song. At the beginning of each episode, contestants performed their respective parts of the song in front of a mystery guest judge from the "Glee" cast. The best singer, or the winner of the challenge, was given a one-on-one session with the guest star and a principal part in the music video.
Damian McGinty, who tied with Samuel Larsen for winner of "The Glee Project," made his debut on "Glee" in the season's fourth episode as foreign-exchange student Rory Flanagan.
Larsen will arrive later in the season and play a relative of Puck (Mark Salling). The runner-up contestants of the reality series, Alex Newell and Lindsay Pearce, were given a two-episode spotlight on "Glee."
"The Glee Project" is currently in the audition phase for the competition's next season. For more information, visit thegleeproject.oxygen.com.
