The Oregon Shakespeare Festival has partnered with Reframe, a technology based management consultancy firm, to incorporate data and algorithms into the festival's DEI efforts, according to Variety.
The 87-year-old regional repertory theatre has made significant moves in the past year to increase diversity, equity and inclusion. The move follows reports from Artistic Director Nataki Garrett, who is Black, that she’d received death threats in response to her progressive artistic decisions.
The technological tools provided by Reframe are intended to foster inclusive, interconnected experiences between employees at every step of the work process. In the long term, the company is hoping that these internal changes will reflect externally in the community surrounding OSF, and its audiences.
OSF and Reframe began working together this past August, although the partnership is only now being announced to the public. OSF is the second arts and culture partner for Reframe, which previously teamed up with the Arts and Science Council in Charlotte, NC in 2019.
