She begins on a part time basis Jan. 1. Acting artistic director Marya Cohn will continue through the end of June 2004.
Presumably, together they will select the 2004-05 season for the Off-Broadway company devoted to work by women playwrights. The company most recently staged a Naomi Wallace adaptation of Birdy (through Dec. 21).
At The Public Theater, Greco staged Lackawanna Blues and Two Sisters and a Piano. For Women's Project, she helmed Touch, Gum and Under a Western Sky. Her work has been seen at such major theatres as American Conservatory Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, South Coast Rep, Cleveland PlayHouse, Coconut Grove Playhouse, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, McCarter Theatre, among others.
For New Georges, she'll direct Deb Margolin's Three Seconds in the Key.
Her world premiere staging of Tracey Scott Wilson's The Story ends Dec. 21 at The Public's Anspacher Theater, but moves to New Haven's Long Wharf Theater Feb. 4, 2004, with a slightly different cast. In March 2004, WPP will co-produce Under the Mango Tree by Carmen Rivera and The Old Matador by Milcha Sanchez Scott, in repertory at INTAR Hispanic Arts Center.
