American Place Theater will present the New York premiere of Julie Dahl's Wonderland this June. Though dates are still tentative, the show will probably begin May 28 and run through July 25. APT presented a reading of the work in 1997. Wonderland subsequently received a workshop in Los Angeles, winning an L.A. Dramalogue Award. The three-act drama is about a group of spatting characters attempting to find meaning in their lives. Dahl, who will also direct the production, writes for the FOX television drama "Party of Five." Her other plays include Licking Grandma's Fingers, Just Shoot Me and When the Bough Breaks.
No casting has been announced for the project. Reports had "Ally McBeal" star Calista Flockhart starring in the production, but a spokesman for APT said the actress had turned down the part and would not be doing to show.
