The No. 11 Productions presentation of Pair begins performances Off-Broadway November 3. Inspired by the lives of world-famous artists Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen, Pair is a meditation on the nature of art and partnership. The work is set to play 59E59 Theaters through November 18.
Ryan Emmons directs the work, which centers on Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen as they explore their creative processes, which inflated everyday objects to extraordinary proportions through their acclaimed pop art sculptures. As the artists explore their creative process, something fantastical is happening as a pear (yes, the fruit) embarks on a worldwide quest for self-discovery. The cast includes Emily Bautista, Julie Congress, Steven Conroy, and Aubrey Lace Taylor.
Pair features original music & sound design by Enrico de Trizio, songs by Danny Tieger, production stage management by Alayna McCabe, associate direction by Victoria Rae Sook, visual art and props by Jen Neads, set designer by Seth Byrum, associate set design by Morgan White, lighting design by Mextly Couzin, projection design by Ryan Belock, costume design by Julie Congress and Kathy Cote, line producing by Zachary Fithian, direction observation/PA by Sydney Scott, and social media management by Haylee van Dalen.
