Scott, who was named one of Time Out New York’s Top 10 Cabaret Artists for 2013, performs at 9:30 PM. The engagement marks the acclaimed performer's 12th engagement at the nightlife venue.
Here's how it's billed: "A celebration of poor life choices, a crippling need for attention, and a regrettable love of vodka. Let belter and bad decision expert Tori take you on a shameless journey with this hour of slurred autobiographical stories and brassy songs written by other people... The thirst is real, the vocals are legit, and the stories are, tragically, all true." Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables associate director Seth Sklar-Heyn directs the show that has musical direction and arrangements by Jesse Kissel (The Scottsboro Boys, The Visit, Leap of Faith). The evening is created by Scott and her longtime collaborator, Playbill.com editor in chief Adam Hetrick.
Scott is backed by a three-piece band, which includes Kissel, Mat Fieldes (Matilda The Musical) on bass and Dan Weiner (Stomp, Holler if Ya Hear Me) on drums. Choreography is by Jonathan Warren (Wicked).
Scott is a New York-based singer and comedian. As a singer, Scott has performed her solo shows at Joe's Pub, 54 Below, the Laurie Beechman, the Metropolitan Room, and every gay bar on the Eastern Seaboard. As an actress, she was recently seen performing alongside Alice Ripley in a concert reading of a new musical The Girl with Polka Dot Eyes and performing opposite Linda Lavin, Leslie Uggams and Stephanie J. Block in the Symphony Space tribute to Sheldon Harnick and Fiddler on the Roof. On television, she's counted to 20 as a singing garbage woman on "Sesame Street" and dubbed the vocals of a singing hooker on HBO's "Cathouse: The Musical." Tori is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory.
