Nick Blaemire's musical Soon will bow Off-Broadway this fall, playing East Village Basement October 29-November 9. The production will be the new venue's first-ever musical.

Will Blum (Beetlejuice) will direct the original musical, about a young woman who avoids the oncoming apocalypse watching TV and eating peanut butter on her couch, until she's forced to reckon her own role in her solitude. The work previously played Washington, D.C.'s Signature in 2015.

The Off-Broadway production will feature Ava Delaney as Charlie, Nicholas Podany as Jonah, Mike Millan as Steven, and Mylinda Hull as Adrienne.

"I love big stories in small containers, and Soon is a prime example of that," says Blaemire in a statement. "A musical about an East Village apartment that takes place in a real East Village apartment is the kind of unique theatergoing experience I crave as an audience member, so to have found the perfect space to pull it off is a miracle. And to tell a story that speaks to the times we're living through in an indirect but hopefully resonant way makes this opportunity all the more exciting."

The Off-Broadway staging will feature music direction and orchestrations by Wiley DeWeese, scenic and lighting design by Chris Bowser, costume design by Gina Ruiz, prop design by Oona F.I.B., and associate music direction and music copying by Dylan Kaufman. Sarah L. Adams will serve as production stage manager. Tricia Small is producing.

Tickets are at SoonMusical.com.
