Muddirt, a helluva town! Get an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming Bigfoot! The Musical with a brand new music video shot at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. Grey Henson, Jason Tam, Katerina McCrimmon, Crystal Lucas-Perry, Alex Moffat, and Jade Jones star in the new musical comedy, coming soon to Off-Broadway's New York City Center Stage I. See them perform the musical's opener "Muddirt" in the video above. "Muddirt is a bad place to live, and here's proof," says bookwriter/lyricist Amber Ruffin in the video's introduction.

Directed and choreographed by Danny Mefford (Kimberly Akimbo, Dear Evan Hansen), performances will begin February 11. The eight-week limited engagement, presented in association with Manhattan Theatre Club, will officially open March 1.

Featuring lyrics by Ruffin, a book by Ruffin and Sciretta, and music by Schmoll, the new musical is set in the town of Muddirt, a glow-in-the-dark oasis that exists somewhere between a chemical dump site and a nuclear power plant. It is billed in press notes as a "larger-than-life musical tale of corrupt politicians, small town paranoia, and misunderstood youth," the latter a gentle giant standing eight-foot tall (and played by Henson). The musical previewed with a 2024 concert performance at 54 Below, and held developmental performances at New York Stage and Film the same year.

Emmy nominee Ruffin received a Tony nomination for Best Book of a Musical for Some Like It Hot and penned additional material for the 2024 revival of The Wiz. She has also written and performed on many TV shows, including The Amber Ruffin Show, Detroiters, A Black Lady Sketch Show, and Drunk History.

Sciretta has been a writer, improviser, and actor in Chicago for over 20 years. As a writer, he’s worked for Second City, The Second City Network, The Onion News Network, and more. He can be heard regularly as the character Dripfang on the podcast Hello From the Magic Tavern.

Schmoll has served as musical director for The Second City and Boom Chicago and composed and produced music for NBC, Peacock, TLC, Broadway Video, AOK Digital, and FOX ADHD.

The creative team includes music supervisor Meg Zervoulis, music director Alejandro Senior, scenic designer Tim Mackabee, lighting designer Mextly Couzin, costume designer Ricky Reynoso, sound designer Sun Hee Kil, and hair, wig, and makeup designers J. Jared Janas and Cassie Williams. Casting is by Jason Thinger.

Hillel Friedman will serve as general manager with Mario-Mars Wolfe as production stage manager.

BIGFOOT! is produced by Benson Drive Productions (George Strus, CEO) in association with Manhattan Theatre Club.
