Readings and Workshops New Musical Following '20s Environmentalist Writer Who Vanished Plans Industry Presentations

Perfect World features a book and lyrics by Alan Edmunds and music and lyrics by Richard Winzeler.

A new musical telling the real-life sotry of Barbara Follett, a wunderkind writer and environmentalist who worked in New York in the 1920s before walking out of her apartment at age 25 never to be seen again, will give invite-only industry presentations October 27 and 28. 

With a book and lyrics by Alan Edmunds and music and lyrics by Richard Winzeler, the presentations will be directed by Karen Carpenter with Laura Bergquist providing music direction and vocal arrangements. Alexandra Beller will choreograph.

The cast will include David Aron Damane (The Book of Mormon), Jackie Burns (Wicked), Rachel Gold (The Phantom of The Opera), Tristan Hernandez (Fun Home), Emma Howard (Matilda the Musical), Javier Ignacio (Company), Ken Jennings (Urinetown), Paul Schoeffler (Rock of Ages), Lily Tamburo (Mrs. Doubtfire), Charlie Tassone (Frozen), Tiffany Toh (Miss Saigon), and Sam Wolf (Jersey Boys).

Also working on the presentations will be orchestrator Ned Ginsburg, copyist Zev Burrows, associate choreographer Myah Shein, casting director Stephen Deangelis, production stage manager Emma Sonricker, and assistant stage manager Amanda Lopez, with LDK Productions providing general management.
