Nadim Naaman and Bill Champion will star in a new U.K. production Andrew Lloyd Webber and Alan Ayckbourn’s By Jeeves.
The Old Laundry Theatre revival will run at the Bowness-on-Windermere venue from October 6 to November 4.
Naaman will play Bertie Wooster, a lovable chump and bachelor. He currently stars as Raoul in the 30th anniversary cast of The Phantom of The Opera in the West End. Champion will play the title role of Jeeves, the faithful and long-suffering manservant; he has been seen in Sunset Boulevard and Ayckbourn's Henceforward.
Naaman and Champion will be joined by Jamie Baughan as Stinker Pinker, Katie Birtill as Madelaine Bassett, Howard Chadwick as Judge Watkyn Bassett, Joshua Manning as Cyrus Budge, Oliver Maudsley as Gussie Fink-Nottle, Naomi Petersen as Stiffy Bing, Nigel Richards as Bingo Little, and Melle Stewart as Honoria Glossop.
“I confess that this is the musical that I privately look forward to most seeing,” Lloyd Webber said in a statement.
By Jeeves tells the mayhem and mistaken identity-laden story of a group of colorful characters battling to salvage love and cover up embarrassing errors. The musical premiered in the West End in 1975.
