The recent Broadway musical Something Rotten!, featuring a score by Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick, has been acquired for worldwide licensing by Music Theatre International (MTI).

The musical, which ran April 22, 2015, to January 1, 2017, was directed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw and starred Brian d'Arcy James and Tony Award winner Christian Borle, along with Brad Oscar, Heidi Blickenstaff, Brooks Ashmanskas, and John Cariani

Set in 1595 England, Something Rotten! follows brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, described in production notes as “two playwrights stuck in the shadow of the Renaissance rock star Will Shakespeare. When a soothsayer foretells that the next big thing in theatre will involve singing, dancing, and acting at the same time, the Bottom brothers set out to write the world's first musical.”

Licensing applications will be available on the MTI website at a date to be announced.

Something Rotten! is now on a national tour. For more information about MTI and licensing, call (212) 541-4684 or email [email protected]
