JET, the Jewish Ensemble Theatre in metropolitan Detroit, offers a summer remount of one its popular hits, Mark Harelik's The Immigrant, Aug. 16-Sept. 17. John Michael Manfredi helms the fact-based play about Jewish immigrants settling uneasily into Texas and making a home there. The play has been a regional hit over the past decade, and spawned a sequel, The Legacy. A musical version of the play will have its world premiere in New York City in September.
The JET staging features Greg Trzaskoma, Arthur Beer, Mary Bremer and Jodie Kuhn Ellison.
Tickets are $10-$36. JET performs in the Aaron DeRoy Theatre, 6600 W. Maple Rd., in West Bloomfield, MI. For information, call (248) 788-2900.
