The season also includes King Lear (beginning June 21), directed by James Edmondson of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival; and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) by Jess Borgeson, Adam Long, and Daniel Singer, directed by Melissa Rain Anderson, beginning June 28.
The festival is also bringing author/director West Hyler, Kleban Award-winning composer Matt Schatz, and Jack Herrick of the Red Clay Ramblers to Winona for a week-long workshop of their new four-actor musical, Georama. The workshop will culminate with a public reading on July 29. Georama "tells the story of the little-known American painter, John Banvard, who created the first georama, a three-mile long painting of the Mississippi River."
Performances continue in rep through Aug. 5 in the Winona State University Performing Arts Center Theatre. GRSF's professional Equity company productions will be joined by its 2012 season Intern/Apprentice Company project, All's Well That Ends Well, directed by Frederic Barbour, for a nine-performance run beginning July 24.
