A production spokesperson confirmed Craig's casting in the popular Off-Broadway production. Craig will succeed Chad Doreck in the role of Matthew. Michael Kadin Craig previously performed the role of Matthew in Altar Boyz for productions at Cincinnati's Playhouse in the Park and St. Louis Rep, both of which were staged by original Altar Boyz director Stafford Arima and choreographer Christopher Gatelli. Craig is also known to television audiences as a contestant from the second season of "American Idol."

The Off-Broadway production of Altar Boyz currently stars Jay Garcia, Jesse JP Johnson, Ryan J Ratliff and Ryan Strand.

A 2005 Outer Critics Circle winner, Altar Boyz is directed by Stafford Arima with choreography by Christopher Gattelli. Music and lyrics are by Gary Adler and Michael Patrick Walker with book by Kevin Del Aguila, based on a concept by Marc Kessler and Ken Davenport.

In addition to the successful Off-Broadway production, Altar Boyz recently completed a national tour and also premiered worldwide productions in South Korea, Hungary, Brazil, Sweden, Finland, Australia and Japan.
