Little has been heard from Melissa Errico since she starred in the short lived Broadway musical, High Society, two seasons back. Now, the actress and singer returns to New York with a new cabaret show, The Real Emotional Girl: Melissa Errico Sings Randy Newman, at Joe's Pub, May 8, 15, and 22.
Errico will sing both famous and unpublished Newman songs. Backing her up will be a five-piece band, including her brother, guitarist Mike Errico, and musical director, Jason Robert Brown (Parade).
Errico's star was born over the course of a single weekend, when she acted, to great acclaim, in the Encores! Series' concert version of One Touch of Venus. Other theatre credits include The Importance of Being Earnest and My Fair Lady.
Tickets are $25. Joe's Pub is located just off the Public Theater at 425 Lafayette Street. For information, call (212) 239-6200.
