MCC's The Nether To Be Preserved in Lincoln Center's Film and Tape Archive | Playbill

News MCC's The Nether To Be Preserved in Lincoln Center's Film and Tape Archive The Off-Broadway staging of Jennifer Haley's haunting whodunit The Nether will be filmed for the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive for the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.

The filming will take place during the March 20 performance at MCC's Lucille Lortel Theatre.

As previously announced, The Nether has extended Off-Broadway following a recent Olivier Award nomination. The show opened February 24 and was originally scheduled to run through March 15. Due to popular demand, the run was extended, first to March 22, and now through March 29, for what MCC says is the final extension.

The Nether, directed by Anne Kaufman, stars "Nurse Jackie" Emmy winner Merritt Weaver and features Ben Rosenfield ("Boardwalk Empire"), Sophia Ann Caruso ("The Sound of Music Live!"), Tony nominee Peter Friedman (Ragtime, Twelve Angry Men) and Tony Award winner Frank Wood (Side Man, Clybourne Park).

Winner of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, the show is a haunting thriller set in the future where an immersive realm for the senses online begins to blur the lines between fantasy and reality, right and wrong.

The Lucille Lortel Theatre is at 121 Christopher St. For information and tickets, please visit mcctheater.org.
