For the second time in less than three weeks a Dallas area theatre director was attacked in a parking lot and hospitalized.

Ochre House Theatre founder Matthew Posey was shot in the face as he was getting into his truck outside the Cold Beer Company far January 30. He survived and is being treated at Baylor Medical Hospital, according to the local CBS affiliate.

No reason for the attack was reported. After shooting Posey twice, the assailant reportedly jumped into a car and drove away. He was still at large as of the afternoon of Febuary 1. Police are tapping local surveillance cameras in an attempt to track him down.

Also recently treated at Baylor was The Firehouse Theatre director Derek Whitener, who was attacked and beaten by two masked men in the parking lot of the Cityplace Target department store January 14. Whitener was released January 28, after being treated for a fractured skull. Two youths were arrested in connection with the January 14 attack.

No word on whether the attacks were related.

Posey was shot just two days after previews began for his new musical, Dr. Bobaganush, which has now been canceled.
