Martin McDonagh's Hangmen will make select orchestra and mezzanine tickets available for $19.65 for the first three performances (April 8, 9 and 11), marking the year the work takes place. The tickets will only be available for purchase from today through March 20, at the Golden Theatre box office or online using the code "HMFLASH."
Directed by Matthew Dunster, Martin McDonagh’s Hangmen is set to begin performances April 8 and open April 21 for a limited 10-week engagement. The production will star Game of Thrones’ Alfie Allen in his Broadway debut, opposite David Threlfall and two-time Olivier winner Tracie Bennett.
The cast also includes Owen Campbell, Jeremy Crutchley, Gaby French, Josh Goulding, John Hodgkinson, Richard Hollis, John Horton, Olivier and Drama Desk winner Andy Nyman, and Ryan Pope, with Sebastian Beacon, Peter Bradbury, Gina Costigan, Katie Fabel and Colin McPhillamy rounding out the company.
The work is set in 1965 northern England, where Harry is something of a local celebrity as the second-best hangman in England. When the country abolishes the execution method, everyone wants to know Harry's take when suddenly an intriguing stranger from London arrives and changes everything.
Hangmen features Olivier-winning set design by Anna Fleischle, who also won the Evening Standard Theatre award for Best Designer; with lighting design by Joshua Carr and sound design by Olivier winner Ian Dickinson, and casting by Amy Ball and The Telsey Office's Adam Caldwell. This production is dedicated to the memory of Elizabeth Ireland McCann.
