NAATCO Henry VI Will Get an Encore at The Public
Stephen Brown-Fried is at the helm of the production, first staged in 2018.

National Asian American Theatre Company's 2018 staging of Shakespeare's Henry VI will get an encore bow at The Public Theater, performing at the Off-Broadway company's Newman Theater beginning June 9 and through July 19. Opening will be June 21.
NAATCO's production, directed by Stephen Brown-Fried, presents the Shakespearean history trilogy in a two-part affair, with the first (subtitled Foreign Wars) finding an infant Henry VI on the throne following the death of his father, and the second (subtitled Civil Strife) continuing the story 30 years later into the War of the Roses.
Much of the production's original cast will be on hand to recreate their performances at the Public, including Rajesh Bose as York, John D. Haggerty as Talbot, Ðavid Lee Huỳnh as Charles the Dauphin, Anna Ishida as Warwick, Paul Juhn as Suffolk, Mia Katigbak as Gloucester, Jon Norman Schneider as Henry VI, and David Shih as Edward of York. They'll be joined by Tommy Bo as John Talbot, Kimiye Corwin as Somerset, Myka Cue as Joan, Teresa Avia Lim as Margaret, Orville Mendoza as Jack Cade, Julyana Soelistyo as Richard, Sue Jin Song as Bedford, and James Yaegashi as Winchester. Casting is by tbd casting co.
Brown-Fried has assembled a new creative team for this staging, including scenic designer dots, costume designer threeASFOUR, lighting designer Mextly Cousin, sound designer Kate Marvin, and prop manager Thomas Jenkeleit. Rakesh Palisetty will be associate director, with Victoria Whooper as production stage manager and Genevieve Ortiz as assistant stage manager.
