Lookingglass Theatre Company's "Mad Hatter's Ball" makes another return. The fourth annual gala benefit will take place at the Bismarck Hotel, 171 W. Randolph Street in Chicago Oct. 5.
The 1996 Ball promises to be an striking event with guests strutting in theatrical masquerade masks and enjoying live performances by the Lookingglass ensemble as well as live music performances by Stubby Phillips and the Zydecats. The evening will also feature a silent auction to include such unusual items as "Guest-Chef-for-a-Day" -- opportunities at Charlie Trotter's and at Bittersweet Bakery and Cafe; international airline tickets; props from the film Dogwater, directed by ensemble member and Friend star David Schwimmer and many other items.
Ticket prices range from $25 to $150. The standard ticket price of $75 includes the complete evening (starting at 7 PM) of performance, open bar, silent auction, dancing and dinner catered by the Bismarck Hotel. For $150, guests can experience the "Champagne High Tea" (starting at 6 PM) and fun and games with the Lookingglass ensemble. In addition, each guests will receive a singed company photo. The $25 tickets are offered for the late night guests arriving after 10 p.m. and include access to the open bar and dancing.
