London's Olivier Awards have set a date and found a home for 2026! The honors, the top accolade for West End theatre, will be handed out April 12, 2026 at Royal Albert Hall. Next year's ceremony will mark the honors' 50th anniversary.
A date for a nomination announcement, plus official word on the 2026 eligibility cut-off date are both forthcoming. The 2025 Oliviers considered productions that had opened by mid-February.
Last year's top categories went to The honors for Best New Play and Musical went to Giant (Best New Play) and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Best New Musical), while Oedipus took home the award for Best Revival in the play category. Oedipus, featuring a new adaptation and direction by Robert Icke, has already crossed the pond to Broadway, and Giant arrives next year.
Regent's Park Open Air Theatre's Fiddler on the Roof, along with Giant and Benjamin Button, tied as the most Olivier-winning shows of the season, each taking three categories at the April 6 event.
Set to be eligible for the 2026 awards are recent titles like Hercules, Into the Woods at Bridge Theatre, Oh, Mary!, My Neighbour Totoro, Paddington The Musical, The Hunger Games On Stage, and The Producers, amongst many others.
