London News London's Menier Chocolate Factory Will Stage New Adaptation of Arthur Wing Pinero’s The Cabinet Minister

The farce sees a member of the House of Commons struggle to shore up his political reputation as his wife and son run up massive debts and reporters lurk around every corner.

London's Menier Chocolate Factory will present a new adaptation of Arthur Wing Pinero’s The Cabinet Minister this fall.

Adapted by Nancy Carroll, the production will be directed by Paul Foster. Opening September 27, the production will begin previews September 21, and run through November 16.

Centering on Sir Julian Twombley, the piece sees the cabinet minister struggle to shore up his political reputation as his wife and son run up massive debts and reporters lurk around every corner.

Carroll will also star as Lady Katherine Twombley, with further casting to be announced.

Foster will be supported by a wide range of Menier favorites, including set and costume designer Janet Bird, lighting designer Tim Mascall, sound designer George Dennis, Tony-winning composer and musical supervisor Sarah Travis, and movement coach Joanna Goodwin.
