The news that My Fair Lady has recouped its capitalization costs since its transfer from the National to Drury Lane - a period of some five months - will have brought Christmas cheer to the theatre industry.
The figures will also be good news for the National Theatre's accountants, as the NT will benefit from the show's profits at Drury Lane.
As well as confirming Cameron Mackintosh's continued golden touch, the My Fair Lady figures also show that there is still a strong market for large scale musicals,.
