Playwrights Horizons celebrates the opening of the world premiere of Log Cabin, a new play by Pulitzer Prize finalist Jordan Harrison, June 25 following previews that began June 1. The new ensemble-driven drama, directed by Tony winner Pam MacKinnon, features a cast led by stage and screen star Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
In Log Cabin, a tight-knit group of gays and lesbians considers the new mainstream through the eyes of their transgender friend.
Completing the cast are Phillip James Brannon (Antipodes, Bootycandy), Cindy Cheung (High Maintenance, 13 Reasons Why), stand-up comic and actor Ian Harvie (Transparent, The Ian Harvie Show), Talene Monahon (Tell Hector I Miss Him, The Wild Party), and Dolly Wells (The Whirligig, Bridget Jones’s Diary).
Log Cabin is playing in the company’s Mainstage Theater, where it is scheduled to run through July 15.
Harrison's plays include Marjorie Prime, The Amateurs, Maple & Vine, The Grown-Up, Amazons and their Men, Doris to Darlene, a cautionary valentine, Act a Lady, Finn in the Underworld, Futura, Kid-Simple, and The Museum Play, as well as a children’s musical, The Flea and the Professor.
Log Cabin features scenic design by Tony Award nominee Allen Moyer, costume design by Lortel Award winner Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Obie Award winner Russell H. Champa, and sound design by Lortel Award winner Leah Gelpe. The production stage manager is Amanda Spooner, and John C. Moore is the assistant stage manager.
