Center Theatre Group marks its 15th anniversary of the annual songfest Salon at the Taper with the event scheduled for Feb. 12 at 8 PM. Salon alum Gordon Hunt directs and Susan Clines produces.
Also slated to appear are Terence Blanchard, Kevin Earley, Freda Payne, Amy Pietz, The Alley Cats, Mike Greensill, Channing Cook Holmes and Wesla Whitfield.
Feinstein, who created and has traditionally anchored the evening, will pay tribute to yet another American songwriter with McHugh.
The composer created the music for the musicals Blackbirds of 1928, Happy Go Lucky, Four Jills in a Jeep, Bring On the Girls, Sugar Babies, Lucky in the Rain as well as other revues. His work has been featured in such recent musicals as Ain't Misbehavin', Swing! and Never Gonna Dance.
Among his celebrated songs to be heard at the Salon include "Dinner At Eight," "Doin' The New Low Down," "I Can't Give You Anything But Love," "I'm In The Mood For Love," "It's a Most Unusual Day," "Too Young to Go Steady" and "When My Sugar Walks Down the Street."
