Lincoln Center will present a staged immersive concert of songs from Avalona: A Musical Legend February 21 at The David Rubenstein Atrium.
Conceived by award-winning songwriter, producer, and storyteller Dina Fanai (Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Rocktopia) and executive produced by Bob Kinkel (co-creator and producer of Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Avalona is a "genre-defying odyssey" (per press notes) of song, storytelling, and movement inspired by the lyrical mysticism of Rumi and the archetypal wisdom of Joseph Campbell. Movement direction is by Natalie Lomonte.
The star-studded evening will include performers from Broadway and beyond, with Rubaii as Avalona (Jesus Christ Superstar), Maya Days (Rent), Dan Dommench (Rock of Ages), Madeline Serrano (Evita), and Fanai. The performance will also feature Fabricio Seraphin as Dark Horse (Hypnotique). The ensemble is joined by Morgan Andrews, Kaori Hiwasa, and Alyssa Bulin.
